Homestay 

The KA Homestay network extends the opportunity of a Kelvinside education to international pupils aged 16-18 years. Our Homestay families welcome international pupils into their home and their family during term time, providing a safe and welcoming ‘home from home’ environment to support your child during their time at Kelvinside. We offer guardianship through our Homestay partner ‘Academic Families’, who support international pupils to ensure their Scottish school days are happy and successful.

University Poster Girl

Rachael Scott (2014) is featuring on the #thisbucsgirl sports campaign for Glasgow University. Rachel was KA’s first ever Rowing Captain and earned her 3rd international cap coxing the Scottish Senior Women's squad to victory at the Home International Regatta in Cardiff in July 2016. She earned her first two while still at school and is now in her 3rd year of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Glasgow

British Schools Winner
27 March 2017

It was a big weekend for Lily Evans Haggerty (S2) who followed up all her recent athletics successes to win the U15 British School Cross Country International in Port Talbot. She was running against the UK's top junior athletes and put in a brilliant performance to win by 6 seconds. Lily is the first Scot to ever win this U15 championship.

Debate Winners

The unseen motion was 'This house believes that The State should compensate victims of crimes by repeat offenders'. Mahee M and Honor J had only one hour to prepare their opposition to this motion in the semi-final of the Donald Dewar Memorial Debating Tournament organised by the Law Society of Scotland.
