Guidance

Guidance is an integral and central part of education at Kelvinside Academy. Effective guidance results in more effective learning, higher educational attainment and furthers the personal development of all pupils.

The Guidance programmes in place are concerned primarily with empowering pupils to take responsibility for themselves and their own development and learning, rather than imposing particular viewpoints and decisions.

Progress and attainment are regularly assessed and reported throughout a pupil's career in Senior School. Parents also receive a monthly Profile of effort, attitude and homework. At all times we seek to work in partnership with parents for the benefit of each boy and girl.

The School has developed an Awards system in which Distinctions, Colours, Honours and Merit Awards contribute to the promotion of an ethos of achievement whereby hard work, commitment and excellence in every area of school life are recognised, valued and rewarded.
