Infantry Training Print E-mail
Friday, 20 March 2009
Infantry Training Sixty cadets from the Army Section attended Infantry Training at Garelochhead Training Camp during the February holiday.  For 4 days the cadets were tested in some fairly harsh conditions.  3rd year recruits were taught the basics of Patrolling and Fieldcraft by the 5th year cadets whilst the 4th and 6th years focussed on section attacks.  Both nights involved a night exercise - A platoon ambush on Saturday and a Close Target Recognisance on Sunday night.  Both exercises involved navigating in poor visibility and the home run along Yankee Road after the ambush was a big challenge to many.  At the end of the weekend Jamie Brechin and Brodie Anderson were promoted to Sergeant and the trophy for top cadet went to Lance Corporal Andrew Jephson.
