The first week of the mountaineering expedition took place in Fort William with an adrenalin packed start to the trip. Activities included quad biking, canyoning, white water rafting, kayaking and paint-balling. The second week included visits to the Cuillins of both Skye and Rum, some of the most spectacular scenery Scotland has to offer.

This summer's canoe expedition took place at the now familiar Loch Lomond, Loch Lubnaig and the River Teith near Callandar. When on Loch Lomond the group found that there was a strong tailwind which enabled them to cover much more distance than paddling alone could ever allow, especially with the aid of makeshift sails. The River Teith proved an exciting departure from the flat waters of Loch Lubnaig with its standing waves and white water.

Greg Stevenson (2010) has become this year's National Smallbore Rifle Association Junior Scottish Champion. Taking part were under-18's from all over the UK, in a week of smallbore target shooting in the grounds of Thirlestane Castle, Lauder. Shooting at 50 metres and 100 yards, Greg set the standard on the morning of the first day, but had to wait for nearly a week to find out he had won.
Meanwhile, Emma Steeples (S4) won Perth City and County Junior Championship - beating Greg in the process. Emma is one of the youngest winners of this event.

3rd Year boys Jack Halley, Grant Halley, Ben Frame, Callum Brooker, Josh Thomson, Glenn Woodage, Ross Cowan and 5th Year Sam Thomson cooked and served a three course meal for parents and guests for their Duke of Edinburgh's award.
The boys have been involved in a cookery course taught by Mrs Cowan for the last few months. Any concerns as to what might be served soon evaporated when the guests' arrival was greeted by the Halley twins serving canapes and wine. Everyone was soon shown to their tables for a meal of smoked mackerel pate, chicken and leek hotpot pie and poached pear and raspberry trifle.
The food was fantastic and the service enthusiastic and entertaining. The boys made a presentation to Mrs Cowan and her able assistant for teaching them over the last few months.
