PC Passport - it's Scotland's newest range of qualifications to help people like you, feel more confident around computers. ![]() Developed by the E-Skills Sector Council, PC-Passport has the flexibility to allow novices to create a core skills framework that can be built on later, or allow people with existing or 'out-of-date' I.T. skills to develop them further. Because PC-Passport is intrinsically linked to the 'E-Skills Passport', the qualification is recognised UK-wide! Essentially, the PC Passport qualification is available in three levels...Not got much experience with computers? Does the prospect of using a computer fill you with dread or 'butterflies' in your tummy? Not to worry! The PC Passport - Beginner Level is just for you. Starting slowly, and fully tutor supported, Beginner Level aims to ease you into the prospect of using computers for practical tasks, everyday tasks which portray the benefits of computers and how they can help you become more productive, creative, informative and... more efficient! Familiar with the basics? Got a thirst for knowledge? Do you have a computer, but feel that your existing knowledge and skills are holding you back? May we introduce PC Passport ~ Intermediate Level. Building on your core I.T. skills, we provide supportive training to help move your experience of computers up a gear. The Intermediate Level course has been specifically designed to encourage I.T. skills progress, whilst maintaining the context of practical applications. Got 'the need for speed'? Do you want to shift your I.T. skills into overdrive? Look no further... PC Passport - Advanced Level is here! Focusing on real, practical tasks that you would normally expect to perform in a vocational capacity, Advanced Level takes your skills and knowledge to the max! At Kelvinside Academy, each course is delivered by qualified and experienced staff in modern computing facilities. We aim to provide a superior quality of training, and our approach is friendly and relaxed, to allow you to fit in comfortably. That's what it is all about - allowing you to pick up invaluable skills without the pressure.Kelvinside Academy will be offering all three levels of PC Passport, however until December 2005 (TBC), only the Basic Level and Intermediate level will be available for training. Training will take place at the Academy between 4pm and 6pm (TBC) on both Tuesdays and Thursdays (TBC), and for participants who are on the Intermediate Level course, they are free to 'drop-in' at the same times, to pursue their course work at their own leisure. Tea and coffee will be provided, as will access to computers, email and necessary stationery - all included in the course fee. So.
