Decisions, decisions!
PC Passport is available in three flavours. Which one you choose, is entirely dependent on what YOU perceive your knowledge and experience of computers to be. If you are unsure, you can contact a tutor at the school, who will be able to perform an impartial, intermediate skills assessment. However, we can leave the decisions entirely up to you - to help you though, we have compiled a brief synopsis of each course...
Level:

Beginner Level (VISA)
|
Who is it for:
|
Beginner level is for people who have very few skills in I.T., people who have 'bad-experiences' with computers and those who feel intimidated by computers and technology in general. This level is ideal for the so-called 'novice'.

What does it involve:
|
At Beginner level, you learn about basic concepts in computing and basic practical applications of word processing, spreadsheets and use of the internet.

What will I get from the course:
|
On successful completion of the Beginner level course, you will receive a PC Passport - VISA Level certificate. This qualification is equivalent to the Intermediate 1 qualification used in schools.

How long will the course last:
|
On average, the Beginner level course may last up to 15 weeks with the participant attending 2 hours per week. However, the course may be shorter, or longer, depending on the individual participant.

Level:
|
Intermediate Level (GREEN CARD)
|
Who is it for:
|
Intermediate level is available for people who have an existing I.T. skill base. People who feel confident using a computer may wish to undertake this course to develop existing skills and experience. If you have already completed the Beginner level, this course would be ideal to nurture and progress your new skills.

What does it involve:
|
As part of the Intermediate level course, your knowledge and experience of word processing, spreadsheets and in the internet will be developed. Additionally, you will the learn basics principals of computer-aided presentation software.

What will I get from the course:
|
When you complete the Intermediate level course you will receive a PC Passport - GREEN CARD Level certificate. This qualification is equivalent to the Intermediate 2 qualification used in schools.

How long will the course last:
|
Generally, the Intermediate level course may last up to 20 weeks with the participant attending 2 hours per week. However, the course may be shorter, or longer, depending on the individual participant.

Level:
|
Advanced Level (PASSPORT)
|
Who is it for:
|
If you already have a firm grasp of computing concepts, you may wish to pursue the Advanced Level course. This courses sets out to make you a 'power-user', giving you the skills to command complete control and knowledge of the computer, in a vocational environment. Advanced level would be the natural progression from the Intermediate level course.

What does it involve:
|
The Advanced level course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to use a computer system to perform complex tasks relating to word processing, spreadsheets, computer-aided presentation software, databases and use of the internet.

What will I get from the course:
|
On successful completion of the Advanced level course, you will receive a PC Passport - PASSPORT Level certificate. This qualification is the equivalent to the Higher qualification used in schools. |
How long will the course last:
|
Roughly, the Advanced level course may last up to 26 weeks with participant attending 2 hours per week. However, the course may be shorter, or longer, depending on the individual participant.
