There has been such a huge response to our exclusive partnership with NuVu - the world’s leading innovation school - that the Swarm Robotics Studio is now fully booked.

NuVu Collaboration

Kelvinside Academy has secured an exclusive partnership with NuVu - the world’s leading innovation school.  This collaboration gives our pupils the chance to attend a choice of unique design and technology camps between 24-28 July 2017, which will be led by leading academics and designers from the likes of Harvard and MIT. 

This Summer, the NuVu theme is “Human++” and they are exploring the combined intelligence of humans and machines to solve big problems!  Two of their summer studio programmes are coming to Kelvinside Academy.

Homestay 

The KA Homestay network extends the opportunity of a Kelvinside education to international pupils aged 16-18 years. Our Homestay families welcome international pupils into their home and their family during term time, providing a safe and welcoming ‘home from home’ environment to support your child during their time at Kelvinside. We offer guardianship through our Homestay partner ‘Academic Families’, who support international pupils to ensure their Scottish school days are happy and successful.

British Schools Winner
27 March 2017

It was a big weekend for Lily Evans Haggerty (S2) who followed up all her recent athletics successes to win the U15 British School Cross Country International in Port Talbot. She was running against the UK's top junior athletes and put in a brilliant performance to win by 6 seconds. Lily is the first Scot to ever win this U15 championship.

SP Quiz Champions
15 March 2017

The Kelvinside Academy P7 Quiz Team won the annual Glasgow Schools Rotary Club General Knowledge Quiz last night. The four-strong team of Tess Neilson, Ava Neilson, Adrian Chew and Anna Craig faced 10 rounds of challenging questions and beat off some very strong competition to be crowned the winning team at the event held at Hutcheson’s Grammar School. They will now represent Glasgow Schools in May at the West of Scotland Round.

American Visitors

Huge welcome to our American friends visiting from Lancaster Country Day School in Pennsylvanial. KA pupils and teachers are enjoying hosting such a friendly group and look forward to showing off some of Scotland's most beautiful sights during the exchange visit. First though is a day in School, and LCD teacher Jill Englert is having fun teaching pupils about harnessing the brain. It is harder than it looks to build a neuron out of pipe cleaners!

On Friday 25 February pupils competed at the Glasgow Schools Cross Country at Netherpollok. Well done to everyone who took part.  

In particular, well done to Jennifer Lewis (S6) who won the Senior Girls race and Lily Evans Haggerty (S2) who won the S2 race.
